Ardee U16 Girls got their season underway against Dundalk on Saturday. A tough match and Ardee were right in it until just before half-time, leading by 10-5 thanks to two tries by captain Caoimhe Stewart. After the break Dundalk introduced some experience and were able to break Ardee down and score in the wider spaces. Not to be outdone, Ardee managed to get back another try, again by their captain, and finished the day with their highest try tally so far.
A good few girls made their rugby debuts and certainly didn’t look out of place. We also had a welcome return of some “old hands” to the game. The squad is growing nicely, but we could always do with more players. Contact the club on Facebook for more info.
